I Remember…

The crowd gathering round

Music over the loudspeaker

Introductions

National anthem

Prayer

Pulling open the bright red gate

A hand raised in the air

Bucking

Spinning

Jumping

The pounding in my heart

The cowboy hitting the ground

Pawing

Charging

Snorting

The clown draws the bull away

Seven long seconds to defeat.

  2. It really must be very thrilling to watch.. have never been to a rodeo (Especially considering that I was in Texas for like 5 years!! :()

Loved and thoroughly enjoyed the pace in your poem!!
The last 2 lines made me feel like those 7 seconds must be the longest for the defeated!
