Jealousy, the green-eyed monster

I see how happy you are

I want that happiness, but

I don’t have what you have.

I  take it, steal it, make it mine.

But in my hands, it does not bring happiness.

I look, and you are still joyful.

I am still pea green.

How can I get that happiness?

This is my entry for Jenny Matlock’s Alphabe-Thursday.  This week’s color is green.

  1. Wow, this was awesome.

I think we’ve all been bitten by that particular bug a time or two.

I really enjoyed your take on Rainbow Summer Schools journey through green.

    Clever and poetic.

  2. That green eyed monster can really be an all consuming scourge. Excellent choice for our alphabe summer school.

My poetry book – Life’s Journey by Carmen Henesy – is out on Amazon
( Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well )

  3. Love your so indidual take on green here! You’re certain to get a starred A+ from Mrs Matlock!!

    Happy AlphabeThursday Green,

PS My own AlphabeThursday Green is posted if you can stop by HERE!

  4. You picked the perfect subject matter for green. Jealousy is such a nasty thing. You expressed it well. I imagine the jealous person eventually gets what they coveted the other person having and then the cycle starts all over again.
