Trick or Treat

It’s time for Jenny Matlock’s Saturday Centus again.  She gives us a prompt, in bold below, to include exactly as presented in our story of up to one hundred words.  Click here to find more stories.

“Trick or treat!” they shouted as the door opened…” It swung open and their eager faces looked up.  Their eyes widened in fear as they looked into the demon face staring down at them.  Both kids screamed and ran back down the sidewalk, dropping their sacks of candy on their way to safety.  When they were around the corner, the demon pulled the mask off and walked calmly to the bags of candy and picked them up.  “Wow,” he thought to himself, “I should have started wearing this mask years ago.”

  1. Love, love, love it!

    Clever, funny, visual, cute!

And a nice little twist to really draw us into the story.

I really enjoyed your use of this prompt.

Just a darn good little read!
