Night

long after dark settled in

a lone woman entering the bar

wearing her good panties

with the matching bra

single woman on a mission

satisfy her animal instincts

alone for way too long

resolved to end this isolation

even if only for a night

drinking courage to overcome

middle-aged married men

transforming them to handsome

single and a dream come true

music pounding into the brain

foreplay on the dance floor

pleasure and shame mix

a bizarre climax to a surreal night

  1. Desperate and unfortunate, the character in this one–an all too common site at clubs, and bars, etc. It’s a scene ensconced in terror–getting back in the game, after so long a time, can seem daunting, horrifying. Such loneliness…so sad.

  2. I am always so very grateful to know my days of the dating game are over 🙂

As Brian said, so very sad but yes, this does happen and being single and alone is not necessarily fun.

  3. Beyond Looking for Mr. Goodbar. I have to agree with Brian, it’s a sad fact that in today’s world and at a certain age trying to find a significant another after losing someone is frightening and nearly impossible. Clearly this is not the way. Thanks for shining the light.
    Well done. Gay @beachanny
