Poetry Potluck

I am merely human

not a super hero.

My kisses won’t heal cuts.

My hugs won’t prevent tears.

My love can’t fix your world.

My prayers won’t work miracles,

But I would give my life

to make this so.

This is for Monday’s Poetry Potluck.  Be sure to visit Jingle Poetry for more poetry on the theme Magic and Miracles, Wonder and Wizardry.

  1. aaah Beautiful words Teresa..

This is how I now try to be after I have discovered some portions of spirituality in me.. 🙂

Well written My Dear.. equally beautiful words..
    Love xx

  2. Thanks for the beautiful contribution on week 11 potluck, hope to see you next Monday!
    Happy Thursday!
Happy Thanksgiving Holiday if you celebrate!

  3. There are many things we cannot be – it’s always best to find comfort in what we can. A beautiful declaration. I could see it coming between two lovers, or a parent to their child. It’s all in the thought – the things we would do with our love, if love could take flight on magic wings.

  4. What a strange lot of powers. To tell you the truth, none of those things may work like you think they do, but kisses, hugs, love and prayers, they do the heart good. =)

  5. Now this is sweet, I agree this sounds like a mother writing to her children when they get older or even a grandparent. Nothing like a little love to make the magic happen. Thanks for sharing!
