Love Thyself

Each morning I rise and look in the mirror

to brush my hair and teeth.

That’s it.  No makeup

and no staring at my face for blemishes.

There’s no time to fault find and

beat myself up over imperfections of flesh.

Instead, I look beyond the flesh of the face

I find reflected back towards me.

Deeply into the eyes and try

to see the soul looking back at me.

That’s what is important to me.

I need to know that the soul I see

is supportive and loving to me.

If I do not receive this nurturing love

from myself, I cannot be ready

to receive the love of another.

  1. Yes Teresa.. me agrees with this one..
I too do it more often to feel loved.. Unless I love myself, I will not be able to let others love me.. 🙂

    Love xx
