King of the Jungle

Crouching in the undergrowth,

Waiting and watching,

A silent and stealthy predator

Waiting for the weak to walk by,

Unsuspecting and unaware of their victim status.

Attacking with sharp clawed words,

The bullying king of the jungle

Leaves the small and meek in

A puddle of tears.

Linking to Fireblossom Friday.

  1. Yeah, people far exceed anything a cat can do–great symbol though, hiding in wait, and picking the victim that they feel safe hurting.

  2. I once came home to find a headless mouse in my house. I couldn’t find any blood on either of my white cats, so I never figured out whodunnit.
Predators, oh yes indeed. You’re so right.

  3. You have addressed the phenomenon of natural selection very nicely. The food chain does not depict a poetic nor docile environment. Insects are the most voracious predators that attack in hordes on innocent victims – brutality at its worst.
