Wednesday Challenge

go away I tell you

I don’t want your attention

an annoying presence, just by sight,

love that is toxic and unwelcome

pretty boy looks can’t make up

for the prickly personality

a painful kiss that leaves me

battered and bruised and bloody

a stubborn thistle growing in my yard

the whack of a hoe will remove

the menace

Linking to Kerry’s Wednesday Challenge at Real Toads.  The challenge is:

Write a flowery poem in an un-flowery way:
include at least one reference to flowers,
either literally or metaphorically,
in as non-clichéd a way as possible.

  1. I never went for the pretty boys. But I do like the handsome ones. And there is a definite difference.

Well done on your flower poem. I think mine would be about a dandelion and the home-made wine thereof, and the bra-flinging that would ensue. 🙂
