The Birth of a Poem

Standing back in the room

just waiting around

eyes glazed over when

my muse sidles up

and whispers in my ear~

a word, a phrase,

the beginning of a tale.

Incubating in my brain

until  developed,  ready

to emerge as a poem.

It pours from my pencil

into the spiral notebook

without pains of labor.

Thanks to G-Man for being one of those muses.  🙂  Be sure to visit for more Friday Flash 55 stories and poems.

  1. Agree with MZ– love it when it happens like that, just flows down on the page. Though the ones we have to sweat over have their own rewards, too. Great 55, Teresa.

  2. Teresa….
