The challenge today at real toads is to write a poem in three separate but connected parts.

Maid, Mother, and Crone

beauty on the outside

young and flirtatious

energy of youth

turning eyes her way

softness and fullness

learning and growing

nurturing souls

beauty turns in

wisdom of age

seeds are scattered

beauty fades from sight

a new generation’s turn

  1. Classic triad indeed–and each aspect of the goddess has her purpose and her own beauty in your short, tight encapsulations. Nice one, Teresa, especially liked ‘beauty turns in…’

  2. Yes, you found just the right image for this poem. What I liked the most were the three complimentary lines containing the word ‘beauty’. That linked up the parts with subtle contrast.

Thank you for participating in this challenge.
