Triolet

The current challenge at d’Verse Poets is to write a triolet.  This is an eight line poem with a rhyme scheme of AbaAabAB.  The first, fourth and seventh lives are the same and the second and eighth lines are the same.

Gazing at the silvery moon

Oh, my heart thrills when she is full

A love song I begin to croon

Gazing at the silvery moon

On a soft warm evening in June

My eyes cannot resist her pull

Gazing at the silvery moon

Oh, my heart thrills when she is full

  1. You can’t go wrong with those anchors. The moon seems such an automatic image to go with the form. Several of us were drawn to it. Thank you.

  2. very nice…and timely considering the full moon the other night…ah but come a warm night in june i could lay out there and listen to the night bugs and bask in her light….nicely done….
