Dusk

The theme for Haiku Heights is dusk.  At Real Toads, Hedgewitch has challenged us to write a chained or linked rhyme poem for the Sunday Mini Challenge.  I’ve combined the two.

sun settling west

rest your weary head my dear

near your mother’s breast

Sunset

day gives way to night

light fading into darkness

caressed by the moon

  1. Oh My Goodness! I love your first piece. I could not see my way toward brevity with this form, but you have shown me how witha piece that is complete in its slightness.

  2. I like the offerings as the chained rhyme works so well ~

Just a little note on the first haiku as form doesn’t require rhyming….to change mother’s breast to bosom (not to rhyme with west) ~ Hope you don’t mind 🙂

  3. I love both of these, Teresa, but “darkness caressed by the moon” is wonderful.

(By the way, did you want to say “near your” instead of “near you” in the first haiku? The old editor can’t help asking.)
