My House

Mama Zen has thrown out a new challenge for Words Count today at Real Toads.  She has asked us to describe a house in 48 words or less.

Heart

beneath rigid walls

the doorway sealed

no entry to secret rooms

neatly hidden away

from prying eyes

private and personal

passions and pain

concealed behind

mind’s locked doors

love and laughter

lying near my heart

mingling memories

good and bad dwell

together in my mind

  1. Great use of metaphor here. There is always a danger in letting strangers into your secret rooms…but if they don’t come in they stay strangers.

  2. So much essential truth in this tightly constructed piece. Good and bad. Both are always there, everywhere, all the time, aren’t they. We choose what to amplify, embrace, reflect, deflect.
