Quickening Moon

My offering for the open links at Real Toads and d’Verse Poets.

February 2013 full moon

Quickening moon gazes down

a pregnant hush upon the land

waiting expectantly for

winter’s white to wash away

under springtime sunshine

green grass dormant waits

to make an appearance

calling lambs to birth

and mares to foal beneath

the quickening moon’s

watchful eye  calling spring

to burst forth with beauty

hidden beneath a surprise snow

Snow in Park

I loved this. Yes, somewhere Spring is crouching waiting to…uh…spring 🙂 And I, for one, cannot wait!
