Vinnie and the Magic Coat

The challenge at d’Verse Poets is to write a poem telling a story.  Fireblossom has presented the challenge to write a poem highlighting a piece of clothing for Real Toads today.  I present to you a story my goat Millie told on her blog way back in February 2012.

Vinnie 3

a simple buffalo coat

red and black checked

a gift of winter warmth

from goat-tending human;

more than a simple coat

this gift brings

sacred buffalo magic

a blessing of sorts

the magic of the coat

provides her strength

and abundance galore;

vinnie 2

no longer the weakest

little doe in the barnyard

big, pushy goats flee

before her magic coat

she wears her buffalo magic

and Vinnie becomes queen

Vinnie 1

    • that is some potent magic. queen vinnie–she looks so regal. i suspect she always had it in her.
