Goat Sisters

A letter to my goatsisters at the prompting of Herotomost for today’s challenge at Real Toads.  I am so excited to be able to travel back to New York this summer to spend more time with my goatsisters.

Dear Goatsisters,

Where would I be
if we hadn’t connected?
A lonely “crazy goat lady”
instead of us three.
Oh, the joy of sharing stories
with those who know
the love and fears that
come with a caprine family.
A goat and a blog here.
A goat and a blog there.
The desire of a goat and a blog
butting us together.
The miles disappear,
sisterhood for real.
Where would I be without you?

Forever goat kisses,

  1. So you know that old song “There’s No Business Like Show Business?” Well, of course you do! So how about this..

There’s no sister like a goat sister
    like no sister I know..

and carry on from there. 🙂

Enjoy NY, enjoy your special sisters!!

  2. Ah, goat sisters. That’s a new one, and yet sisterhood of any kind that is built, not born of blood, is special. I love the pic of you three, and the bond you share is so sweet. It takes a special person to love a particular animal, and goats are truly loveable in so many ways. The way they like the space between their horns scruffed. Their sweet dispositions. The marvelous milk for goat cheese… I could go on.

Framing this in the form of a letter sweetened the deal for me. Simply wonderful to read, and good on you! Amy

  3. A wonderful personal letter! Indeed, I feel like an eavesdropper. Except nothing could make the point more clearly that meeting people who care about the same things can be so much better than isolation. Thank you.

  4. oh that is very cool that you’ve met… it is so wonderful if we find people that have the same interests that we have… makes life all the more exciting

  5. Sisterhood is where it’s at. I love this, Teresa–and I’m so glad to have met Mimi as well–her FB posts often have me either laughing or admiring the many interests she is able to get into–you too, of course, goats included. I know you’ll all have a blast when you get together.

  6. 🙂 Got to love those loving sisters of the Caprine family. I hope the reunion goes well and the blogs’ readerships have great increase.

  7. That is the point I think of letter writing. A sincere and human way to reach out and enjoy those that we covet in a way that is not harried by the pace of ever day life. That picture is lovely and it sounds like you are all extremely fortunate to have each other. Great writing, thanks for participating.

    Warmest Regards,
