Balloon Ride

Today’s challenge at d’Verse Poets is to write a Quadrille (44-word poem) using the word balloon.  I’m also sharing with Real Toads for the Tuesday Platform.

Floating up and away
a hot air balloon
takes me to another
place–where troubles flee.
It takes me to another
time–when life is simple.
A whoosh of hot air
releases all my cares,
drifting freely over hills
floating out of this world.

  1. Very nice, R, I’m thinking what a beautiful escape. Similar to my growing-up day dream of jumping out the window, flying to somewhere that I didn’t have to land. Suicide wishes? Not for me, those two didn’t coincide that I remember. Both were escapes though.
