Summer Sheets

The challenge at d’Verse Poets today is to write a poem that is all about the sense of smell, more specifically a comfort smell.  I am also participating at the photo challenge for Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie.  I am using my own photo to accompany the poem (which I always use my own photos).

bright scent of sunshine
flapping in the breeze
blends grass and wind
with the song of birds,
delighting my senses
as I snuggle into scratchy
cotton summer sheets,
safe and sound in bed

  1. …and nothing smells sweeter than those sheets that dried on the line in the sunshine! Whatever happened to clotheslines anyway??

  2. oh this was pure delight! you blended smell and touch with a hint of sound collected in the breeze. thank for such a heartwarming piece of poetry
