I am so very late again.  I am joining last weekend’s Saturday Mix and Mindlovesmisery’s Menagerie.  The challenge was to write using an antithesis (opposite ideas expressed in parallel structure).  I’m also joining Tuesday’s Poetics at d’Verse Poets where we were to focus on the sense of touch.  Maybe some day I’ll quit being so late to the party (but it’s doubtful).

You are my pleasure;
you are my pain.
The coarse work-worn hand
pulling me close to kiss–
a softness not imagined
from your deep red lips.
No warning; everything shifts.
kisses turn to curses
a fleck of spit against my cheek–
hands shove my shoulders
falling into the abyss.
You are my pleasure;
you are my pain.
