Searching for Spring

Today I am joining d’Verse Poets where the challenge is to write a quadrille (poem in exactly 44 words) and this week we are to include the word “sip.”  I’m also sharing at Real Toads for the Tuesday Platform.  In case you can’t tell, I”m way past ready for spring to arrive.

Angry killer clouds masking
the pale winter sun,
throwing a flood of flurries
squalling and covering
yard and fence and field
in a smothering white blanket

Give me warm sunshine–
a sip of hope for spring–
thawing my heart with
hope for the future

  1. I don’t live where winter torments with snow and cold, but I remember it too well. May that “sip of hope for spring” come quickly for you.

  2. I absolutely love this ❤️ Especially; “a sip of hope for spring– thawing my heart with hope for the future.” 😊

  3. I am so with you on this, Teresa! Here in the southwest, we had snow for the first time at my house in many a year! I do so hope the spring thaws your heart, and mine as well.
