Hummingbird

I’m excited to be hosting Saturday’s Mix at Mindlovelisery’s Menagerie this summer.  Here is my meager offering, a hummingbird shadorma (a short poem with the following syllable count per line:  3 5 3 3 7 5).

frantic wings
in continuous
motion; now
hovering–
avian helicopter
hummingbird glory

ABC Saturday’s Mix

It’s time for Saturday’s Mix at Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie.  Today is an ABC challenge.  I’ve chosen to use alliteration in a poem following the shadorma form. The shadorma is a non-rhyming poem with a syllable count of 3 5 3 3 7 5.

raindrops fall
fast and furious
from the sky
announcing
spring’s certain promise, sparking
new life once again
